Sisters of Our Lady of Fatima Vision History

The Religious Institute of the Sisters of our Lady Fatima which has its Generalate in Pune, was founded in 1893 in bellary, Karnataka, by Servant of God Francis Xavier Kroot, MHM.

His intense love and zeal to spread the kingdom of God, inspired him to work for all, especially for the liberation of the downtrodden and women. Our Revered Father Francis Xavier Kroot MHM, dreamt of a congregation of Indian women religious working for the people of India. With no penny of Positivity, he envisioned through the eyes of faith a congregation that would spread far and wide.

The Vision of our founder impels us to be educators in joy and hope to build a society of persons who are caring and responsible.

Therefore, we take up the challenge of educating the youth with the love and compassion of Jesus Christ, the Supreme Teacher. Our focus however, is on educating the poor and the underprivileged, especially girls.

We endeavour to bring out the best in every student through a sound physical, emotional, intellectual, moral, social, cultural and spiritual formation.

We help to foster in them an attitude of reverence towards God, respect for themselves, concern for every person, keeping in mind that every individual bears the image of God.

We inculcate in our students the Gospel Values of love, sharing, generosity, forgiveness, equality of labour and human life, in order that they may live a simple and meaningful life and be promoters of justice, peace and harmony.

We work to maintain academic excellence in and through curricular and co-curricular activities.

We instill in them the spirit of patriotism and prepare them to live as responsible citizens.
